In a surprising turn of events, Jesse Lingard, the former Manchester United midfielder, has reportedly severed ties with his agents as he intensifies his search for a new club. Lingard, who became a free agent in June after being released by Nottingham Forest, has faced challenges in securing a new contract.

Despite training with West Ham, his former club, during the summer, Lingard opted to explore opportunities abroad. He joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq, managed by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard. However, contractual limitations on foreign players in the Saudi League prevented him from sealing the deal.

The 31-year-old has been actively showcasing his training regimen on social media, featuring footage from both America and Dubai. While Lingard remains determined to find a new club, United legend Paul Scholes didn't hold back in expressing his frustration, delivering an X-rated post aimed at the English international.

In the latest update on Lingard's situation, a source close to the player revealed to Sky Sports News that Lingard's primary focus is simply to play football. In pursuit of this goal, he has taken the decisive step of terminating all ties with his former agents.

Despite a less productive stint with Nottingham Forest last season, contributing only two goals and two assists in 20 games, Lingard's impressive loan spell with West Ham the previous year showcased his potential. During his time with Manchester United, he scored 35 goals and provided 21 assists in 232 matches, winning trophies such as the FA Cup, League Cup, and Europa League.

Lingard's international career includes earning 32 caps for England and scoring six goals. However, he has not been selected by manager Gareth Southgate since 2021. Lingard's bold move to take control of his career by parting ways with his agents reflects his determination to secure a fresh start and make a significant impact on the football stage once again.
